FRIDAY, JUNE 19th from 5:30 - 6:45pm

Join Michelle for a nourishing Yin Yoga series aligned with the rhythms of the seasons. Yin is a slower paced, mostly floor-based practice where postures are held for longer periods, inviting stillness in both body and mind while gently stimulating the connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, and fascia).
This meditative, grounding practice supports mobility and flexibility, encourages fascial release and helps to deepen awareness of the mind-body connection. As the body softens and the mind quiets, you are creating space to turn inward, settle the nervous system, and connect within.
By allowing gravity to do the work, you are invited to explore your edge of sensation with kindness and curiosity, cultivating a non-striving approach.
Each session is inspired by the five Yin seasons and their corresponding elements and meridian pathways, with space for intention-setting and reflection, offering a holistic framework for balance, resilience, and renewal throughout the year.

MEET MICHELLE:
Michelle’s yoga journey began through her work with children and families and a desire to share yoga and mindfulness with families impacted by childhood cancer, inspired by her own family’s experience. With a background in early childhood education and over 20 years supporting children and families, she completed her 200-hour teacher training through Yoga Muse School of Yoga in 2019 and has continued to deepen her studies through additional training in Yoga for Recovery, Yoga & Cancer, Yin, Restorative Yoga and Reiki. Michelle continues to approach both teaching and practice as a lifelong student.
Michelle offers accessible practices that invite you to arrive just as you are, honoring that every body and every experience is unique. Inspired by nature and the rhythms of the earth, her classes encourage grounding, presence, and a deeper awareness of the mind-body connection. What begins gently often unfolds into opportunities for exploration and self-discovery. Along the way, you are invited to pause and notice with curiosity—to witness how postures feel in your own body and explore the relationship between effort and ease, challenge and compassion.
Off the mat, Michelle enjoys spending time in nature - kayaking, hiking, four-wheeling - crocheting, laughing and adventuring with her husband, three grown children, and two precious grandchildren.

Join Holly and John for a heart opening evening in ceremony with Cacao. With the medicine of cacao we intend to deepen the threads of connection within this community. Cacao is a heart medicine that encourages vulnerability, tenderness and radiant love.
On entering the space you will receive a cleansing with feathers and sage. We’ll then drop in together, each with a cup to sip while we begin the talking circle. This circle is an opportunity to be heard or seen, share a dream, a song, whatever is on your heart, or just listen. We agree that what is shared in circle stays here, advice is only given with consent and the space/respect for others process is given. The ceremony will close with a sound healing and somatic integration to allow whatever themes arose from the circle to fully land in your body for you to carry this energy forward out into the world.
It is with deep gratitude, lightness of heart, and joy that we share this medicine and space with you all.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 30TH
4:00 - 5:15PM
Led by YNDI Yoga founder Lana Vogestad, the all-level practice will begin with a fluid vinyasa flow, seamlessly connecting breath and movement to cultivate strength and openness, then transition into restorative floor postures for release and renewal. Throughout the entire experience, Katie Carleton on harp and Sarah Carsman on viola will weave an entrancing, improvisational soundscape, resonating through the space to calm the nervous system, balance energy centers, and invite profound relaxation.
This unique fusion of yoga, sound healing and nourishing ambiance will soothe, restore and elevate your being.
About Katie Carleton
Katie Carleton is a harpist that has taken the scenic route to finding her sound. After studying harp at Oberlin College she moved to New York City where she found herself playing harp and guitar in the hip hop band, Northern State that was signed to Columbia Records and had a song produced by the Beastie Boys. Katie's harp also led her to share the stage and record with guitar goddess Kaki King. These days she enjoys collaborating with YNDI Yoga to create an immersive experience that will help you stretch deeper and breathe easier.
About Sarah Carsman
Kittery resident Sarah Carsman is an YNDI member, classically-trained violist, and community health nurse/advocate. She is delighted to be collaborating with good friends Lana and Katie, bringing to YNDI decades of experience exploring the sonic potential of the viola in the fuzzy space between classical, experimental, folk, and art-pop traditions. Sarah worked for many years as a professional violist/violinist and music educator, performing and teaching across genres in a wide variety of settings. She has toured the heart of South America as co-principal violist with the state orchestra of Mato Grosso, Brazil; taught violin to classes of 3rd graders in a primarily Spanish-speaking public school in Santa Barbara, CA; played for countless weddings and recording sessions; and performed as a core member of the Irish band Dannsair. Sarah trained as a violist at the University of Michigan School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, and UC Santa Barbara and has attended summer studies at Tanglewood, Kneisel Hall, and the Mancini Institute. She also completed graduate work in ethnomusicology at UC Berkeley, with research focused on the symphony orchestra as an institution in the US and Latin America, the politics of music education systems, and urban soundscapes. By day (and, sometimes, night) Sarah manages a mobile health program that provides access to primary medical care for marginalized populations throughout the greater NH Seacoast area.

We all know the power of a good map.
A map gives you the wisdom of those who've gone before. It orients you when you're lost, saves
you from going in circles, and shows you the most direct path to where you actually want to go.
Yoga has such a map — and it's one of the most illuminating teachings you may ever
encounter.
In this experiential two-hour workshop at Shilo Farm, Devarshi Steven Hartman
introduces the Five Koshas — the ancient yogic model of the five interconnected layers of the
human self, from the physical body all the way to the deepest essence of who you are.
Most of us walk around identifying with just one or two of these layers — and then wonder why
we feel stuck, confused, or somehow not quite whole. This teaching changes that. It gives you a
new lens, a broader map, and a much more interesting story about what it means to be you.
Through guided exploration, simple movement, breath, and reflection, you will:
• Discover the five layers of your being in a clear, practical, and even surprising way
• Understand how confusion, stress, and limitation often arise from mistaking one layer for the
whole
• Gain tools to navigate your inner world with greater ease and clarity
• Experience a deeper sense of alignment, purpose, and — yes — inner freedom
No prior experience required. Just curiosity and a willingness to explore the most interesting
territory there is: yourself.
When you have the right map, the journey makes sense. And what once felt hopelessly
complicated begins to come beautifully clear.
There's something remarkable hiding right under your nose — literally.
In this lively and experiential 3.5 hour workshop at Shilo Farm, longtime teacher and healer
Devarshi Steven Hartman guides you into the extraordinary world of Pranayama — the ancient
yogic science of breath. This isn't just a breathing class.
It's a doorway.
Through playful experiments, gentle movement, laughter, and moments of genuine stillness,
you'll discover breath practices that balance energy, dissolve tension, and bring you back to
yourself. From calming techniques that quiet a spinning mind to energizing practices that shake
off the fog; you'll leave with a whole new relationship with the thing you do 20,000 times a
day.
In this workshop you'll receive:
• A toolkit of Pranayama practices you can use anytime, anywhere
• A direct experience of how breath shifts your energy, mood, and presence
• Simple techniques to calm stress, boost vitality, and return to center
• A lot of laughs — and maybe one or two moments that genuinely surprise you
All levels and all bodies welcome.
Seriously — all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness
to breathe.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18th from 5:30 - 6:45pm
with Michelle James
Pause.Notice.Allow.
