MEET LANA:
Lana Vogestad, E-RYT 500, visionary and accomplished visual artist, is driven to help empower people and elevate consciousness through the healing modalities of yoga and art. Practicing regularly since her first Hot Yoga class in San Francisco in 2000, and teaching since 2008, Lana has shared her passion for this life changing practice internationally, conducting extensive teaching engagements in Iceland, the Netherlands, Atlanta, New York, and New England. Drawing inspiration from diverse yoga traditions and guided by her extensive training under renowned teachers, Lana artfully weaves the rich teachings of various yoga disciplines into her classes. She is recognized as the most senior international teacher of the Barkan Method of Hot Yoga and is Jimmy Barkan's senior assistant in his Level II/III teacher trainings. In 2020, her online creation YNDI Yoga that brings yoga, art and mindfulness together, earned a place in the Official Selection of the Reykjavík International Film Festival. Lana's vision has further materialized into a national TV series on PBS and the Create channel that she produced through American Public Television with three seasons out around the country. Above all, Lana is proud of how YNDI harmoniously amalgamates her experiences as an artist, yoga practitioner, and teacher, to hold place for healing, connect with universal energy to relieve suffering, and build connections with others. Lana has her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a BA from Bates College in Maine.
